NON-FFS Top Placing Bonus

Earn An Extra $500 Per FFS Event!

TuffMan Series Is Rewarding Teams That Choose To Compete This Way!

If you choose to lockout your FFS like a NON-FFS Event prior to the event and finish as the top NON-FFS placing team in an FFS Event, you will earn a $500.00 BONUS once validated.

How It Works
1

Lock It Out

Prior to takeoff, you must lockout your FFS like a NON-FFS Event. Notify an Official of your intent to lockout.

2

We Lock It

We will apply a serial numbered tamper-evident security lock to your trolling motor & graph. Once locked, they stay locked.

3

Top NON-FFS Team

If you are the top placing team that competed without the use of FFS in an FFS Event, you qualify for the bonus.

4

Bonus Paid

Once validated, you will earn a $500.00 BONUS paid at the scales. One bonus per FFS Event.

Must compete the entire event with FFS locked and not in use.

NON-FFS Events

The Rule Is Simple

No Forward-Facing Sonar.
No Exceptions.
NON-FFS Competition

At tournaments designated as NON-FFS events, forward-facing sonar is prohibited during official competition. All teams are responsible for understanding and complying with the TuffMan Series NON-FFS procedures below.

1. What’s Prohibited

Forward-facing sonar is prohibited during official competition.

Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Garmin LiveScope
  • Lowrance ActiveTarget
  • Humminbird MEGA Live
  • Any similar or successor technology

The prohibition applies to every operating mode, including:

  • Forward
  • Down
  • Perspective
  • 360
  • Similar live-view modes
Traditional 2D sonar, down imaging, side imaging, GPS mapping and mapping cards are permitted.

2. Disclose, Disconnect & Secure

Every team must disclose all forward-facing equipment installed or carried in its boat.

Before launching, all prohibited transducers must be:

  • Removed
  • OR disconnected and secured

Any disconnected prohibited transducer must be secured with a TuffMan Series-approved serialized locking device or tamper-evident seal.

Turning off a graph, breaker, power switch or screen page does NOT satisfy this requirement.

No portable, spare or replacement forward-facing transducer may be carried in the boat during competition.

3. Inspections & Verification

Tournament officials may inspect any boat or equipment:

  • Before competition
  • During competition
  • After competition

Officials may photograph equipment, conduct random on-water inspections, place an observer or recording device in a competitor’s boat, or follow a competitor with an official observation boat.

Refusal to cooperate with an inspection or verification procedure will result in DISQUALIFICATION.

4. Seal Responsibility

Each team is responsible for protecting its assigned seal or locking device.

If a seal or locking device is accidentally damaged, the team must immediately:

  • Stop fishing
  • Notify the Tournament Director
  • Leave the equipment untouched until instructed by an official
Fishing may not resume until the Tournament Director authorizes it.

A broken, missing, altered or mismatched seal that was not immediately reported will result in DISQUALIFICATION.

5. Penalties

Connecting, activating or using prohibited sonar equipment during a NON-FFS event: Disqualification, forfeiture of all winnings and points, possible suspension.
Failure to disclose equipment: Disqualification.
Intentional tampering or false information: Disqualification + suspension.
Broken or missing seal without immediate notification: Disqualification.
Refusal of inspection, observer, video review or polygraph: Disqualification.

6. Final Authority

All contestants agree to submit to equipment inspections, video review, observer verification and polygraph examination when requested.

All decisions of the Tournament Director concerning this rule are final.
